Apple Watch Will Have a Replaceable Battery
A lot of information was spilled yesterday during Apple’s “Spring Forward” event, including details on the battery for the Apple Watch. Apple says the Apple Watch is the companies “most personal device.” According to TechCrunch, the Apple Watch will have a completely replaceable battery, however, they don’t mention how much it would cost to walk into an Apple Store and replace a battery.
Apple officially states that the watch will run 18 hours with moderate usage. The watch also features a power reserve feature that should give your watch 72 hours. Every Apple Watch comes with a one-year limited warranty that covers battery replacements. The company also offers out-of-warranty batteries for a fee.
The device is powered by an all-in-one in-house system-on-a-chip, dubbed the Apple S1. Unfortunately, the company doesn’t mention whether or not the watch will be upgradable, nor did they mention that the watch will have a yearly release cycle.
The Apple Watch pre-orders begin on April 10th. On the same day, you’ll be able to walk into a store and try an Apple Watch on for yourself. On April 24th, the wearable device will be available to ship in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and United Kingdom.
