Feral Interactive Announces ‘ROME: Total War’ for iPad
Feral Interactive, founded in 1996 and based in London, has announced that they will be bringing ROME: Total War to iPad. Developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA on Windows PC, and published by Feral Interactive on Mac, ROME: Total War is one of highest-rated strategy games of all time. In ROME: Total War for iPad, players will experience hundreds of hours of gameplay with this Total War classic in all its full desktop-quality glory.
ROME: Total War is an epic-scale strategy game where players will experience ancient Rome in all of its historic glory. Running from the late Roman Republic to the early Roman Empire with campaigns across Europe and North Africa, ROME: Total War allows players to fight battles, while using diplomacy, to pave the road to victory.
Best of all the game makes no compromises, gamers can take part in a full scale campaign, playing as any one of 11 factions. There’s even the same 3D battles with thousands of on-screen units just like the desktop counterpart and, on the turn-based strategy map, players will manage the economic, civil and religious arms of their empire.
Despite there being no mouse and keyboard controls, the game will use intuitive touch-based controls and gestures, giving an ideal gameplay experience. We’re also told that ROME: Total War will take full advantage of the iPad’s Retina screen and graphics chip, meaning the game should look pretty phenomenal.
Topping off the announcement, Feral Interactive indicated that two expansion packs would be related later this year: Barbarian Invasion and Alexander. While there’s no solid release date, the game will be playable on first generation iPad Air and iPad mini 2 models or better.
