If you’re dying for some new maps for Gameloft‘s Sci-Fi FPS, N.O.V.A. 2, well you’re in luck because Gameloft has brought 3 new levels to the game as an in-app purchase. Here are all the full details on the maps:
– Floating Rocks: These low-orbit platforms were designed as opulent resorts. Now they’re desirable vantage points. This map provides the ideal environment for close-range conflict between small teams. Hold the high ground to rain gunfire down on enemies. But one misstep can lead to a quick trip to the planet’s surface.
– Aquarius Beach: This facility once housed hundreds of N.O.V.A. trainees. Now, it’s a mid-range killing field with prime sniper nests and plenty of natural cover. But don’t get comfortable in one spot; many paths make it easy to flank the unaware. The ability to adapt to interior and exterior combat is key to survival here.
– Icy Bridge: This vast Volterite mining complex uses an energy field to stay suspended between mountains. While you can walk on this field, it does not obstruct weapons. It’s great for getting the drop on unsuspecting targets, but provides no cover from counterattacks. Large teams often vie for control of the strategic center facility.
Get 10 free XP levels in multiplayer.
Better protection against hacking thanks to bug fixes.
If you want to download these new maps, you first need to update N.O.V.A. 2 and then download the maps via an IAP. This map pack costs $1.99.
Well folks, 2010 has been one amazing year, with the Apple’s iPhone 4, Apple’s iPad, Epic Games‘ Infinity Blade[REVIEW] released, PocketFullOfApps hitting well over a thousand visitors a day, Gameloft‘s N.O.V.A. 2, and so much more, it’s finally coming to an end. To commemorate, acknowledge, and award to best iOS developers of 2010, we here at PocketFullOfApps are holding the PocketFullOfApps 2010 Developer Awards from now until the end of the year for you to vote on who you think is the best iOS Developer of 2010.
For me, it’s a very hard decision with Epic Games‘ Infinity Blade, Gameloft‘s N.O.V.A. 2, EA‘s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Firemint‘s Real Racing 2, ‘ Aralon: Sword and Shadow, all the way to Chillingo‘s Angry Birds, and to Rockstar‘s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown. It’s taken me a good amount of time to think of who I’d vote for, but I’ve narrowed my vote down to Firemint. Sure, Gameloft‘s N.O.V.A. 2 and EA‘s Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit are great games, but once I started to play Real Racing 2, I was blown away by the graphics and amazed at how well the game was put together. Though I still tip my hat off to the other developers out there on the App Store, big and small, for what they’ve done, made, developed, introduced and such, but Real Racing 2 got my vote.
But simply my vote alone shouldn’t set the tone for everyone’s vote or opinion. So, with that said, you can vote for who you think is the best iOS developer of 2010 either above or below. At the end of the voting, I’ll tally up the votes, see who is voted the best iOS Developer of 2010, and then make the announcement. We’ll have a 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and some honorable mentions at the end of the voting process. Voting ends on the 31st (of this month) and the top developers will be announce with their respectful places. We hope to see all of you who read this and hear about this to participate, comment, and retweet this on Twitter to get the word around. Thanks and see you around next year!

Well folks, the ever so long wait for today has finally came for all of those much anticipated games to be released such as Gameloft‘s new FPS (First Person Shooter), N.O.V.A. 2. For those of you who are new to the N.O.V.A. games, well, N.O.V.A. 2 (and its predecessor) are both futuristic shooting games that usually take place in space and you play as a soldier for the N.O.V.A. alliance killing various different aliens as you go throughout the game.
6 years have passed since the events depicted in the first episode.
Humanity is now thrown into a bloody civil war fought on one side by the central government of the Terran Orbitals and the self-appointed Human-Alien Alliance; a new organization with a mysterious origin and agenda. Kal Wardin left active service in N.O.V.A. years ago and now lives among the colonists of the desert planet Scorpius.
But war never spares even the most peaceful places…
