Anyone here remember the release of the original iPhone? Maybe even the first iPod Touch? Well if you want some classic nostalgia feels and memories of what it was like to see the very first iPhone in action, Youtube user Matthew Miller has compiled all the original iPhone ads into one 10-minute long video. This isn’t to go without saying that the first iPhone was also announced at MacWorld, however, since then Apple has moved most of their bigger announcements to their yearly WWDC keynote presentation. That said though, be sure to check out the video if you want to experience a small throwback to 2007.

As most everyone knows, the both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pack a pretty decent punch when it comes down to how much RAM there is as well as the CPU and GPU. But for those that may not know, the very first iPhone sports just a 412 MHz CPU, 128MB of RAM, and a 320×480 pixel display. That being said, the iPhone has definitely made a lot of progress over the last seven years. Moving forward, a Youtube user by the name of EverythingApplePro was able to get their hands on every single version of the iPhone to do a side-by-side speed test. As one would guess each new iPhone generation gets a little quicker, however, it’s also interesting to see the design changes as well.

If you thought that Android 2.3 (labeled as “Gingerbread”) running on an iPhone 3G couldn’t be done, well, I’m sorry but you are wrong. Just recently, hackers were able to install and run Android 2.3 on an jailbroken iPhone 3G which is pretty cool, especially to show off to your friends that aren’t so tech savvy. It appears that it’s not fully ready for a public release just yet — the multitouch is a little sluggish and we’re not completely sure if the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi works yet either. Oh and as a side note, Sony’s and Dell’s Android cellphones are still running on Android 1.6!! But all jokes aside, can see more info over at Redmond Pie if you would like to. Well, for those of you that have an iPhone 3G and are running iOS 4 which has speed problems on the iPhone 3G, you are in luck. Steve Jobs has said the there will be a software update coming “soon”. Here’s the e-mail conversation with Steve Jobs:

I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.

My best guess is that this software fix will be out sometimes in the next 2 weeks, but who knows. One thing is, is that iOS 4.1 Betas on iPhone 3G devices have shown steady speed improvements which is really good and means that it will probably be out within the next 2 weeks (which is just a guess, though).
