When you think about it, the iPhone is a pretty amazing device with over 200,000 applications to download at any given moment. But is it amazing enough to get into the Guinness World Records? Yes. But what about games like Angry Birds or Plants Vs Zombies? Yes. Just recently, the iPhone along with Angry Birds and Plants Vs Zombies went into the Guinness World Records for some astounding accomplishments and feats.
First off, the iPhone 4 set the record for the “fastest selling portable gaming system” with first day sales of 1.5 million phones while the PSP sold 200,000 units on its release date. The following was mentioned by Guinness’ gaming editor, Gaz Deaves.

With the never-ending App Store selection and an intuitive device, Apple has created a gigantic new space for itself in the casual games genre that literally brings entertainment to users wherever they may be.
Next up is the App Store. What record did the App Store set? Well, it set the record for the “most popular application marketplace” and “the largest downloadable video games store” with 6.5 billion app downloads and over 270,000 apps available.
Now onto the games. First off, Angry Birds which wins the “top paid App Store application”, with around 6.5 million downloads and has sold in 67 different countries and/or territories. Next up is PopCap’s Plants Vs Zombies, which sets the record for “fastest selling iPhone/iPod strategy game” , with over 300,000 downloads in the first 9 days.
Talk about some helluva achievements and records!
