‘Doodle Bomb’ Review
Yes, we’ve all seen a physics game on the App Store, as can be said with ‘doodle’ games. They’re swarming the App Store and in fact, they’re starting to get a little tiring, but what about a game that merges the two together?
Doodle Bomb is a physics game in which you have to ultimately bomb a green switch with one of your bombs so that you can open the door, which your character will escape through.
The way this differentiates from a lot of other games similar to this such as Ragdoll Blaster is that due to the fact that the bombs have a set time until they detonate, timing is every bit as important as wit and strategy.
The game itself doesn’t have any background music but in my opinion, this was a choice to aid the atmosphere of this game. The sound effects are good though, and I think they’re perfectly enough for this game. The doodle graphics are excellent for this game and aren’t too childish or unprofessional. On the contrary, the doodle graphics make the game very distinct.
Of course, the game isn’t perfect. One thing the game really needs is a marker to show what your previous shot was. The grid background is of course helpful as it can help you slightly remember the plot of your last shot. The lack of a sign to show your last shot can make the game extremely tedious at times as it can be hard to perfect your shot to make it more accurate.
But to me, that’s the only problem. Yes, this game is really that good to me! It’s definitely up there with the likes of ragdoll blaster and if you’re looking for a good physics puzzler, this is definitely a safe bet. There is total of 65 levels in the game and they’ll take a good while to work out.
Overall score- 4.5/5 (definitely an excellent physics puzzler that is worth your money)
