It’s been quite some time since we last heard from Crescent Moon on upcoming titles they are set to publish, however, over this weekend we got word on something that couldn’t be passed up. According to the email we were sent, the sequel to 2-bit Cowboy has finished development and set to release next Thursday on the App Store for $1.99. Dubbed 2-bit Cowboy Rides Again, the official launch trailer has been revealed and will probably be even better than its predecessor. As shown below, the launch trailer gives us a good amount of insight into the sequel and what we can expect from it.
Other than what information is above that’s all we were given for now, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes last minute.
I think it is fair to say that the App Store is overpopulated with high score runners. From Monster Dash to Rayman Jungle Run, there is allot of them. So when a game comes along that does something different it really stands out. One game that is doing that is Sparkwave by Megasweet, published by Crescent Moon Games.
Just from playing the tutorial you will be able to notice the difference between Sparkwave and its competition. The game takes on a relatively retro graphic and music style whilst at the same time feeling unique with the games controls and colors.
You control an arrow going along a path made of hexagons. You must attempt to stay on the hexagons whilst avoiding the black obstacles in the way simply by going left or right. The longer you survive the greater your high score. To make things more tricky, each time you go off the path you lose energy, which when depleted ends the game. You will also have to deal with the game flipping into different angles making it incredibly difficult to master the controls, offering a really good challenge.
To help increase your score there is a range of power ups to grab such as magnets which can help you grab crystals which can be used later on, speed up which increases your speed, a shield which lets you play on if you hit an obstacle and energy which allows you extra time off the grid.
At the end of the level you have the option to continue by watching an advert which can be used 5 times a day. After this you will be on your own to set a high score. The crystals previously mentioned can be used to unlock other colored lines and special limited power ups through the games in-store menu.
If like me your ability to survive is very average (I am not afraid to admit this) you can purchase 50k crystals in the store. There is also the option to remove the games ads if you want to support the games developers.
If you think you can tackle difficult games, wait until you try out Sparkwave. It truly is a difficult game to master, but despite this is great fun, even if you keep ending up dead. With great animations and well made environments Sparkwave is worth trying out when it launched worldwide this Thursday for free on the App Store.
With Christmas just a few days away, there are plenty of sales on the App Store to feast your eyes upon. One of the more notable sales is from Crescent Moon Games, makers of numerous popular RPG titles for iOS like Ravensword: Shadowlands and Aralon: Sword and Shawdow. This sale includes the two previous games mentioned along with some of their other classics like Paper Monsters Recut and Deer God. Right now we’re not sure how long this sale will last, however, we expect it to last through Christmas. Apart from that, be sure to check out the full list of title included in the sale along with their price changes.
Keeping tabs with Crescent Moon, we’ve recently been told about a brand new game heading to iOS from them that will land later this week. Dubbed Starseed: Origin, the game is described as a “retro pixely shoot ’em up” with some 3D effects added in for extra flavor. We’ve also been told that Starseed: Origin will launch alongside iOS 9 using the new ReplayKit available in iOS 9. Here’s the trailer:
Features:
9 Playable Starseeds.
9 Huge dreadnoughts to defeat.
Game Center Leaderboards and Achievements.
9 amazing chip tunes from @FracturesAudio.
Risk reward bullet grazing combo system to master.
Crescent Moon has never disappointed us with any games they’ve published or developed, so it’s safe to say this game will definitely be worth taking a look at. Apart from the trailer and small bits of information, we’ll be sure to update you if anything changes last minute.
Another big week has arrived for game releases, and whilst its not promising to have as much big games as we got last week, it will have one HUGE release in Angry Birds 2. Crescent Moon Games are also releasing their long awaited Operation Dracula and we also have a new take on the classic game Snake in the form of Cube Worm. Those games and more are previewed below in “Out this week”.
Angry Birds 2 (by Rovio) — July 30th
No number of BWAHS could ever justify the epicness of what’s about to go down on Piggy Island…
Angry Birds 2 hits our app stores this week. It has however been on the Canadian store for a while now under the name Angry Birds Under Pigstruction. It brings a new character called Lady on top of new levels, polished graphics and interesting animations. It is however a free to play title with limited lives, so expect to pay some money for success. Whether this ends up being another hit, or just another Angry Birds like the many versions already on the store remains to be seen, but only time will tell.
Cube Worm (by Craneballs s.r.o.) — July 30th
You thought feeding your worm and avoiding obstacles was hard enough? Try that on a cube that is constantly spinning and can take your worm out of sight.
From the makers of Overkill, its sequels and Gun Master comes Cube Worm; a classic twist on the original arcade game by the name of Snake. Try to grow your worm as long as you can over the three different worlds of Grass, Desert and Ice. You can also unlock different “Eleworms” in Earth, Fire, Water and Air. The game is completely free and doesn’t have any in app purchases.

Nurture an idyllic slice of tourist’s heaven into the top nature spot of the nation, furnishing it with a variety of services like inns, tours, and more!
As with most Kairosoft games this one has had a quiet release when it launched on Sunday. If you are unfamiliar with the company you may remember their games Game Dev Story and Mega Mall Story both games which had lengthy spells on the top of the App Store charts. In Fish Pond Park you take control of a pond and its surrounding environment. Start tours, advertise fishing and build inns in order to attract as much people to your pond as possible whilst attempting to make “the big catch”. Seriously though, if you haven’t tried any Kairosoft game, give them a go! You will not be disappointed!

The controls are simple. Tap the screen to fire your rope up to the ceiling above.
