‘ijura’ Mobile VPN App Review
There’s no doubt today that adding a VPN to your computer or even mobile device might be a smart move. With online ad trackers, privacy concerns, and many other reasons, implementing a VPN into your every day routine either for protection or what have you might be a wise move. The question though becomes how do you go about choosing a VPN provider.
In today’s world there’s no shortage of paid and free VPN providers, both offering different advantages and disadvantages depending on who you chose. Even more so just because you, as a consumer, chose a VPN doesn’t mean that same VPN might be good for corporate management or a large-scale device network.
One VPN app that falls into the later category, a VPN for mobile device management and large corporate networks/enterprises, is ijura. Ijura is a cloud-based cybersecurity platform providing real-time Mobile Threat Defense available for both Android and iOS. At its core ijura installs and configures a VPN on your device, routing all your traffic through their network, to detect threats like malware, spyware, phishing scams, and other harmful internet threats.
During my testing I was able to successfully install and test their VPN configuration. My initial findings showed that I didn’t see any performance impact on my network speed either on Wi-Fi or LTE which is always a good sign. From my research, while ijura can be used as a consumer VPN, it’s marketed as a solution for large networks and companies based off their offerings panel.
From a common sense stand point though take for example someone who is in-charge of a medium to large scale IT operation. When it comes time to route all of their company’s traffic and data through a 3rd party VPN, there comes a concern of what traffic the provider see, what are they doing with your company’s information and traffic, and will your traffic be encrypted so even the VPN provider can’t see it.
Unfortunately though whether you’re choosing from ijura, ExpressVPN, Tunnel Bear, or any other VPN, all of the aforementioned concerns and thoughts come into play, it’s really up to you to do your due diligence in research and asking questions.
That said though one pro to ijura is that on the consumer side of things, it’s completely free to use for both iOS and Android. Those on the enterprise side of things will need to contact ijura to get a quote for the size of their mobile device network.
