Honeycomb Aeronautical Partners with Maingear to Offer a PC Designed for Flight Simulation
Honeycomb Aeronautical, a leader in professional flight simulation hardware, recently announced that they have partnered with Maingear to launch a desktop PC built and optimized specifically for flight simulation. Because flight simulation software can be graphically intensive, the Honeycomb PC by Maingear has been built to support triple-monitors as well as all the USB connections required.
Such external devices required for a fully immersive experience include yoke, throttle, rudder pedals and panels. Even though there are a few flight simulation games available for PC, the Honeycomb desktop is optimized for X-Plane 11 and comes pre-installed.
In addition to their PC, Honeycomb Aeronautical is offering a Yoke and Switch Panel and the Bravo Throttle System. These are high-end modular components that pair perfectly with other flight simulation hardware and software. As of right now both are available for $199.99 a piece. According to Engadget, Honeycomb‘s special PC starts at $1,499 and features an Nvidia RTX 2060 card.
Unfortunately though there’s no word on when the desktop will be available to purchase as it was just showcased at CES 2019. That said though I suggest keeping tabs with Maingear and Honeycomb Aeronautical via social media.
