Audio-Technica Shipping ATH-ANC700BT Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Here’s something new for the PocketFullOfApps viewers. Audio-Technica has recently announced that they’re now shipping the ATH-ANC700BT wireless active noise-cancelling (ANC) headphones. According to the press release, these headphones feature Audio-Technica‘s newest advancements in noise-cancelling technology to offer a better experience for the listener.
The ATH-ANC700BT wireless headphones also come with Bluetooth and utilize a new system that operates in a wider frequency range in the low through mid-range frequencies than usual ANC designs. Unlike traditional microphone placement for noise cancelling headphones, the ATH-ANC700BT places the headphones behind the driver diaphragm to provide better noise cancellation.
Now these aren’t your everyday, average ANC headphones. Audio-Technica has implemented a touch and swipe control system, which can be used to answer calls, control volume, and much more on Bluetooth devices. Because buttons on the sides of headphones can’t be seen while wearing them, switching to a gesture-based control system is a nice touch.
In terms of technical specifications, the ATH-ANC700BT sports 40 mm drivers and frequency response from 5 Hz – 40,000 Hz. Supposedly the battery life will last up to 25 hours, and can be charged through the USB port. If the battery does in fact lose its charge and you’re unable to charge it, the headphones can still be used in wired mode with a 3.5mm jack.
As of right now the headphones are available in a Matte Black finish with memory-foam padding on the ear pads. Included in the packaging is a carrying pouch, a USB charging cable, and 3.5mm AUX cord. The only place I was able to find the ATH-ANC700BT for sale was Dell.com for $199 USD.
