Nexon and Big Huge Games, two prominent developers who I’ve regularly covered in the past, are celebrating the three-year anniversary of their hit strategy game DomiNations. From now until the end of April players can look forward to in-game events and activities for rewards.

“We created DomiNations because it’s a game we want to play, bringing history and a deep strategic gameplay into one place,” said Tim Train, CEO, Big Huge Games. “Today, we’re celebrating each and every passionate player that enjoys building their nation and waging war with their friends just as much as us, as we set our sights on bringing more history-based events and updates to DomiNations.”

Starting today and running until April 18th, the “Northwest Passage Event” challenges players to collect diamonds through the storyline of James Cook’s Third Voyage. Then the “Global Community Challenge” has players work together to earn points that will unlock rewards for anyone who plays the game. These rewards include supply drops, special sales and discounts, and bonus Troop Tactics. In essence this is one huge collaborative event amongst all players in the game.
