‘Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth’ Coming to iOS Next Month
German video game developer Daedalic Entertainment has finally announced a release date for their iOS adaptation of Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth. After the PC and console release over summer 2017, part one of the trilogy can soon be downloaded on iOS. Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth Book 1 – From the Ashes (wow that a long title for a game) is set to land on the App Store in a couple weeks on April 4th for $4.99 USD. There’s no word on when Book 2 and 3 will be available, however, we’ll keep you in the loop.
The game features hand-painted 2D backgrounds, a thrilling story as well as an orchestral soundtrack to provide the same gaming experience as the desktop counterpart. That being said though icons and controls have been optimized for a smaller screen, however, those are the only changes.
Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth is set in 12th century England and follows characters like Jack, Aliena and Prior Phillip as they construct a revolutionary gothic cathedral in the fictional town of Kingsbridge and put their town on the map economically, socially and politically. Their efforts bring attention from the town’s rivals Bishop Waleran and William Hamleigh whosee the town and its rise to importance as a thorn in their side.
Features include:
- Interactive storyline events that can be changed, influencing the fates of its characters.
- Key decision points with meaningful, emotionally-engaging story choices.
- Over 200 hand-painted backgrounds featuring faithful rendition of 12th century life.
- Three main playable protagonists, plus two extra playable characters.
Like I said earlier, Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth Book 1 – From the Ashes will be available starting April 4th for $4.99 USD with the following two chapters to come later.
