Adventure Game ‘Subsurface Circular’ Now Available on Nintendo Switch
The text-based sci-fi adventure game, Subsurface Circular, from developer Bithell Games has finally made its way onto the Nintendo Switch after much anticipation. Developed in partnership with indie developer Ant Workshop, the game places players in the tole of a detective stationed on the Subsurface Circular who investigates a series of disappearances among the city’s robotic working class.
Players must “collect words and phrases, then use them in dialogue puzzles to uncover the world’s secrets and determine its future.” We’re told that Subsurface Circular is the first title in a series of “Bithell Shorts”, so it’s probably safe to expect more games later on that have a similar style.
Even thigh the game is akin to a text-based adventure game, the developers have incorporated some graphical elements to enhance the player’s experience. For the most part the storyline has an engaging narrative and “is meant to be experienced as a single-session story”, according to the email I got. As of now the game is available for $5.99 USD or equivalent in local currency.
