Red Bull Announces Season 2 of ‘Team Brawl: Hearthstone’
Right off the press of XPlane-11 comes another story from the folks over at Red Bull Media House. Featuring Blizzard‘s popular card game Hearthstone, Red Bull has announced the second season of their esports competition Red Bull Team Brawl: Hearthstone.
Currently there are two events left in the series — August 5 and December 15 — with each taking place at Red Bull’s eSports Studio in Santa Monica and being broadcasted live on their Twitch channel. The esports competition takes Hearthstone’s typical gameplay and transforms it into 3v3 matches, adding a huge team work aspect to the game.
Each 3v3 team is dealt one 240-card pool where each player must build a 30 card deck. Similar to the first season of Red Bull Team Brawl: Hearthstone, the competition is laid out in a Round-Robin format:
- Teams blind pick one of their three decks to use against opposing team.
- As soon as a deck wins a game, it can’t be used again.
- First team to win with each of their three decks, they move on.
