Nexon Announces New Partnership with PlayFusion
Nexon, best known for their mobile and PC games, have recently announced a brand new partnership with PlayFusion. This newly formed partnership is expected to generate opportunities for players to engage with virtual characters and worlds, including character packs and accessories, amongst various Nexon games.
PlayFusion, founded in 2015 by the former management team of Jagex Games Studio, operates mostly in the Toys-to-Life genre based on Augmented Reality and IoT to connect toys with games. The partnership between Nexon and PlayFusion will allow the companies to deliver these types of experiences to gamers, using the technology to scan real-world action figures and character cards that then appear onscreen and become part of in-game experiences.

“This is an exciting partnership that will make games even more dynamic and fun,” said Nexon President and Chief Executive Officer Owen Mahoney. “Combining PlayFusion’s expertise in connecting games to action figures and accessories with Nexon’s ability to create and sustain games that grow over many years will allow us to deliver a deeper, more engaging experience for players.”
Right now no specific details on any upcoming projects or games have been handed out, but we should probably expect to see some within the next month or so. It should be interesting to see how Nexon can implement PlayFusion‘s expertise into their games, so we’ll keep you updated as this partnership takes form.
