Aquapolis: Dive into the World of Amazing Underwater Adventures [Review]
Huge underwater megalopolis, dozens of production buildings with unique technologies, unusual and useful decorations, exciting story – when have you last seen something like that in free-to-play mobile citybuilder game? Aquapolis is a game for those who are bored of the standard farm and tycoon-like games and wanting to try something with a different twist to it.
Meet the main protagonists of Aquapolis — a scientific space mission team looking to return back to Mother Earth. Upon arriving back the three characters — Captain, Professor and Lana — discover that the whole planet is covered with water and humans are replaced with human-like fishmen. So, what happened? In the game players help solve this mystery together with the courageous wanderers and their new friends, a local underwater tribe.
The task in Aquapolis is not only to build houses and produce goods — players will also discover the changing world step by step and learn new technologies. Along the way they’ll help the heroes find out why Earth had submerged underwater.
Residential buildings must be constructed for the citizens, so each house will bring you certain amount of silver coins. These silver coins are required for new buildings, purchasing new territories and buying materials for producing goods. Apart from that, you can earn silver as well as experience needed to reach new levels and go through the story by completing tasks from Aquapolis citizens. There’s also daily tasks from the city tenants that be viewed at the Request Board.
Other than silver coins players can earn another in-game currency, rubies, while playing. Rubies are required for speeding up construction and production, buying specific buildings and inventory. You can purchase rubies for using in-app purchases, and sometimes discounts are offered.
As most popular farming games and city tycoons, Aquapolis has decorations designed to turn your city into paradise for tourists. Besides being great for scenery development, they also provide good benefits. The more decorations you build, the higher “Ecology” level your city has. On the flip side, it can be lowered by the amount of production buildings. If your city’s “Ecology” level is below zero, trash piles start to appear in the streets and if it is positive, underwater flowers grow everywhere. Aquapolis can be downloaded for free on the App Store by clicking here, however, there are in-app purchases.
