Out This Week: ‘Breakneck’, ‘Lara Croft GO’, ‘Ski Safari 2’ and More
We have a huge week of game releases ahead of us. This week a new Lara Croft game arrives on iOS, PikPok are releasing a game that has been in soft launch for a month now and Ski Safari 2 is out. We will preview those games and more in this week’s “Out This Week”.
Breakneck (by PikPok) — Out Now
Master your speeder and defeat your pursuers in high speed action across a world ravaged by an alien occupation.
Breakneck has been in soft launch for about a month now and it has finally gone worldwide. The game is a high speed endless runner where you must navigate your spaceship (speeder) through fields of debris and various environments, on the way collecting currency. The game is pretty much ‘Into the Dead’ re-skinned and thats because it’s the same developer. Saying that, if you don’t like zombies and didn’t play Into the Dead then trying this out is recommended.
Fallen (by Teaboy Games) — Out Now
Fallen is a SHOCKINGLY addictive reaction game. Set in a beautifully minimal environment, simply spin the wheel and match the colours as they fall!
Fallen is a unique and incredibly addictive action reflex game where you must spin the wheel to catch the corresponding coloured ball. Every spin before you catch the ball gives you bonus points which help you get the a bigger score. There are different power-ups to help you out too. The gameplay is both simplistic and enjoyable with a simple soundtrack and admirable graphics.
Lara Croft GO (by Square Enix) — Out Now
Lara Croft GO expands the turn-based puzzle gameplay and takes you on an adventure set in a long-forgotten world. Explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover hidden secrets and face deadly challenges as you uncover the myth of the Queen of Venom.
Lara Croft GO is the successor to the incredibly popular turn based puzzler ‘Hitman GO’. The game is also a turn based puzzler which comes with an amazing sounding soundtrack (just watch the video and you will know what we mean) and gorgeous visuals. I have been a Tomb Raider fan since owning my Gameboy and PS1 and can not wait to get my hands on this game.
Ski Safari 2 (by Sleepy Z Studios) — Out Now
Play as Sven’s sister Evana, share the action in multiplayer mode, perform awesome new tricks on snowboards and skis, and ride on crazy new animals! Oh, and watch out for the avalanche!
Made by Australian studio Sleepy Z Studios Ski Safari 2 is the sequel to ‘Ski Safari’. The original game was a hit and you may feel like you have played or seen a similar game before. That’s because the gameplay has been copied so many times now it is unrecognisable. The second version of the game brings a new female protagonist called Evana. You can also now ride snowboards and do tricks by swiping the screen.
Tiny Empire (by Mother Gaia Studio) — Out Now
Launch cannonballs and blow tiny orcs into thousands of pieces in this intuitive fantasy-themed puzzle shooter!
Help the king defend his empire and stop the “foul orcs” from stepping on his perfect majestic lawn. Tiny Empire is a puzzle shooter which anyone can pick up an play. If you are familiar with Angry Birds then Tiny Empire should be easy to play, and for those that haven’t, the game comes with an easy to learn tutorial. The controls are simple to learn: aim your cannon at the orcs, and let go to fire. The less cannonballs you use, the better rating you get for the level. The games animations and graphics are well made, as are the sound effects. I am glad that the game isn’t free to play, as it could easily be turned into one. In conclusion, if you want a well made, story driven, puzzle shooter that doesn’t spam you with ads and time limits, then definitely try out Tiny Empire.
