Games Workshop‘s hit Warhammer 40,000 is set to get an update later this year with the release of Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, a new tap-to-shoot action combat experience that’s developed by Pixel Toys. Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade marks a first in being the first franchise game on any platform that allows players to take command of an Imperial Knight, a colossal armored war mech, with an armory of heavy weapons to take on the enemies. Additionally, the first gameplay trailer has been released, giving us a better look into what the game will be like.

Featuring intense 3rd-person shooter combat action, players take command of their own Imperial Knight as they play through a 40+ mission campaign, complete with additional randomly-created Patrol missions. Players can also customize and equip their Imperial Knight to blast through destructible environments and battle with deadly enemy forces from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. There’s also an expansive loot and crafting system where players can can forge, upgrade and customize their Imperial Knight
