Out This Week: ‘Gathering Sky’, ‘Monsters Ate My Metropolis’ and More
We have another exciting week of game releases ahead of us including a new Adult Swim Game that as always is full of humor and goofiness. We also have a big release from Electronic Arts which is sure to excite Canadians because they get to try it first, and as always that is just the start with a few more unique and exciting games on the store for us to check out. So lets dive straight into it!
Avoid (by Noodlecake) — Out Now
Using the play area on the bottom half of the screen, you touch and drag to move your character around trying to “Avoid” the saw blades that are bouncing around.
This game looks both simplistic in its design, yet at the same time it looks to be good fun. You must drag your character of choice around your device and avoid the spinning blades. If you hit a blade you lose one of your three lives as-well as part of your body. The aim of the game is to get the biggest score possible before your character is dismembered into a million pieces.
EA Sports FIFA (by Electronic Arts) — Out Now in Canada
EA SPORTS FIFA, a brand new mobile game in development, will deliver stunning, console quality, gameplay and Ultimate Team that’s been designed for mobile.
Every year we see a new FIFA, but usually they are title with a number that represents the year. This time the game for iOS has been released as simply EA Sports FIFA. Avaialble on soft launch in the Canadian App Store the new FIFA brings a new control system, stunning graphics thanks to a new game engine, and a redeveloped Ultimate Team experience. At the moment the game is free and only offers its users the ability to play the Ultimate Team mode, but expect to see the option for career and quick play when the game releases worldwide September 22.
Gathering Sky (by A Stranger Gravity) — Out Now
Guide a flock of birds through a world where earth, sky, and stars are woven together. The sky is not a place to conquer, but a place to discover and play.
Every once in a while a game comes along that is a complete masterpiece. A perfect mix of gameplay, music and art. Gathering Sky is that game, and I am willing to put money down that this will be one of those games we will be talking about in years to come. You must gather birds and guide them through the sky. There are no levels, no scores, no objectives yet the game is simply amazing and something you wont be able to put down.
March of Empires (by Gameloft) — Out Now
Claim your title as Highland King, Northern Czar or Desert Sultan, and join this genre-redefining strategy game where you will wage constant war for real territorial conquest!
It’s been a while since we last got a new game from Gameloft, and after months of quietness on top of closing their New York Studio the publisher is back with a new mobile game March of Empires. The game looks to be a top down war game where you build castles and defend them from other armies. The game is free with iAPs.
Monsters Ate My Metropolis (by Adult Swim Games) — Out Now
From the people who brought you Robot Unicorn Attack 2 and Giant Boulder of Death the monsters are back, and they’re dealing out destruction!
Sequel to the PikPok game “Monsters Ate My Condo” Monsters Ate My Metropolis is unlike its predecessors a card battling game where you compete against the AI to destroy and defend the metropolis. Each turn you get to play your card. Mastering what card to play when is key to this game. The gameplay, music, sound effects and humour involved in this game is top notch. It is definitely a game worth getting when it launches on the 13th.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 (by Frontier Developments Ltd) — Out Now
RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3 (RCT3) is the classic bestselling PC strategy simulation that now brings the fun of a roller coaster park right to your iPhone or iPad!
This is a game that I have always enjoyed playing, and I am so excited at the unnanounced launch of the third game. Design a themepark and then operate it from your iPhone. The best thing is that the game is paid so you don’t have to deal with any free to play mechanics in order to play the game.
