After Team17‘s partnership announcement with Playtonic Games, they’ve also announced two brand new additions to their very successful Worms franchise. Titled Worms WMD and Worms 4, we’re told that they will be unveiled later this month at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
Worms WMD features a fresh take on the 2D cartoon-inspired worm as well as hand drawn landscapes. For the first time ever players will be able to use new vehicles and even enter buildings which adds different strategic elements to the gameplay. The game release for Xbox One and PC in 2016, however, Gamescom attendees will be able to get a hands-on demo.
Changing pace for a moment, Team17 has also announced the upcoming release of Worms 4 for mobile devices. Worms 4 is the classic mobile experience featuring an all new look and improved design featuring smaller landscapes, smaller teams and shorter match lengths. Players will be able to take part in turn-based synchronous online multiplayer matches played out in real time, battle their way through 80 single player missions, collect over a hundred weapon upgrades and duel across 5 different themes.
Lastly, Worms 4 is set to release on all iOS devices sometime later this month.
