Welcome to out this week, where we preview the new games coming out each week. This week is promising to be the best week in a long time with releases from key developers already having hit the store, and more on the way. As always we will include a small developer description of the game, and the add our own impressions below that. Let’s get straight into it then!
Hollywood Game Night (by Halfbrick) — Out Now
The outrageous social game allows up to eight players to participate in a series of laughter-inducing mini games, including fan-favorites like “How Do you Doo?”, “Take the Hint”, “Smash the Buzzer” and “I Love a Charade”. There are eight games in total.
Made by one of my favorite developers in Halfbrick, and based on the new NBC game show hosted by funny woman Jane Lynch, Hollywood Game Night is a new game that allows you to challenge your friends and family at eight different mini games and quizzes. The games are mostly based around modern pop culture, so brush up on all the silly trivia facts you can find before challenging your mates at this fun application.
Million Arthur (by Gamevil) — Out Now
Pull Excalibur from its stone and prove that you are worthy of holding Britain’s fate in your hands. Defend the shores of Camelot from invaders across the southern seas. Wield the power of your knights and become a legendary leader. Become the one true King Arthur!
Developed by Square Enix and published by Gamevil, Million Arthur is yet another card collection RPG style game to hit iOS. The game has found incredible success in Asia an even had a English release is Singapore, and after a long wait for its fans, it has finally released worldwide. The main story of the game is multiple heroes competing with each other to see who is the true king Arthur, supposedly in Britain (Although the characters are a bit loosely clothed for the English weather).
This War of Mine (by 11 bit Studios) — Out Now
In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The world has suffered from some sort of apocalypse and only a small few are remaining. You must make life and death situations as you protect those inside of your shelter from those outside. The game has a huge story to back it up, and the arts are simply amazing. Each game is different so you wont always see the same characters and stories. If you have been waiting for an in-depth game to dedicate your time to, this is it.
Warhammer: 40,000 Deathwatch Tyranid Invasion (by Rodeo Games) — July 16th
Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion is a turn based strategy game, set on the edge of Imperial space, where your Space Marines will engage the Tyranids in a series of tactical engagements. From war ravaged cities, to the insides of Tyranid bio-ships, your mission will see your Kill Team rise in strength and skill as you face ever greater threats and peril.
Developed with Unreal Engine 4, Deathwatch Tyranid Invasion is a turn based strategy game where you control space marines as they fight an invasion of Tyranids. The campaign has over 40 missions which are all fought in well developed environments including cities and spaceships. There is also a multiplayer mode to try out after competing the missions.
