Use Your Jetpack to Hop Back Into Space in ‘Kosmo’
What happens when a jetpack-wearing alien crash lands on a planet that looks a lot like Earth? He’s got to jump his way back to space to hitchhike a ride home, of course! That’s the idea behind Kosmo, a fun new game that’s recently hit the iOS App Store.
Kosmo has controls that are easy to learn, but the game is tough to master. Tapping on either side of the screen jets you up and to the left or right, letting you work your way ever higher. Your jetpack only works in short bursts, and there are enemies trying to keep you from getting to space, so as you hop up, so you have to bounce to the left and right to avoid those obstacles. Some of these obstacles, like the “air mines,” are stationary and are relatively easy to avoid. Others, though, are zeppelins that move back and forth, and you have to time your jumps just right to escape. There are others, but I don’t want to give you too many spoilers.
The graphics in Kosmo are well designed and executed, providing a cute backdrop to the little alien’s plight. Sounds effects and music are equally fun, setting just the right tone for your efforts to leap back into space. Kosmo is a cute little alien, complete with the antenna on his head. You’ll enjoy every minute of this endless hopper that seems like turning Flappy Bird into an astronaut.
Cherrypick Games, the developers behind Kosmo, also brought us such titles as Touchdown Hero and Must Deliver, which were both featured by Apple. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kosmo follows suit, giving Cherrypick the hat trick of three featured games on the App Store.
Kosmo is free to play, but you can remove the ads through an in-app purchase.
