A week ago we reviewed NimbleBit‘s latest game Capitals. The developer who also made Pocket Planes has stated on a public forum that “Capitals is now our second worst performing game, after Nimble Quest“. In a bid to try to make the game more profitable the developer has moved to change the way the lives system in the game works.
With the new update users will start off with 15 lives, when they first download the game. Once you have used all your lives, no more will regenerate. The current system has a life regenerating every hour, with a maximum of three lives at a time. With the update users will be able to gain a life by watching a video. This allows a near unlimited amounts of lives. On top of the overhaul the update will also make all customization options free, and also have increased social features, rankings, expiration timers and instructions on how to leave or forfeit a game.
NimbleBit recently stated, “We’re not sure if this will make any more money but it should actually provide less waiting and preventing people from actually playing.” The update has been submitted to Apple and is expected to be available soon.
