iOS Activation in Enterprise Now at 73%, Taking Lead Over Android
According to a report from Mobility Index Report by research firm Good Technology, iOS activations went from 69% in the third quarter to 73% by the end of 2014. On the other hand, Android activations dropped from 25% to 23%. Microsoft phone and tablet activations remain at their consistent 6%.
Good Technology believes this is due to the large interest in Apple’s new smartphone offerings (of course, we’re talking about the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). To put it into perspective, since the late-September release, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has made up 30% of all activations during the fourth quarter of 2014.
“The smaller form factor of the iPhone 6 continued to prove more popular than the larger iPhone 6 Plus,” according to the report. Specifically, 77% iPhone 6, 23% iPhone 6 Plus.
Unfortunately, Blackberry devices were not included in this report.
