According to 9to5Mac, Sprint MVNOs such as Ting, Boost, Virgin, and more — are no longer required to wait a certain period of time, typically a year, to support new devices. Up until now, Sprint MVNOs would only be capable of supporting last generation devices. With the carrier lifting this requirement, Ting is announcing support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Other carriers will be following suit.
Owner of unlocked, SIM-Free iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus will soon be able to activate their devices on the Ting network. The carrier offers plans as low as $3 a month. The move comes just after the carrier has just made a deal with T-Mobile to offer support for GSM devices on its network.
