DeNA and Hasbro, who we’ve written about numerous time in the past, have recently announced their latest upcoming title, Transformers: Battle Tactics, a new turn-based tactical combat game which is in development for iOS. In Transformers: Battle Tactics, players can collect iconic Transformers characters and assemble teams of Autobots and Decepticons. For gamers that would potentially be interested, you can register now at the official website to receive special content once the game lands on the App Store.
From what we were told, the game will be available to download for free and will feature more than 75 classic Transformers characters including Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, as well as Bumblebee. Battles are swift and require strategic decision-making to guarantee a win. Each Transformers character has unique stats and abilities, which shift as players convert them from robot to their alternate mode. The unique graphic style is inspired by the Transformers Generations Combiner Wars characters and comic book series. Transformers: Battle Tactics also features a single-player campaign, story-driven in-game events and real-time player-vs-player (PvP) matches for players to fight it our and rise to the top of the leaderboards.
Transformers: Battle Tactics is the third title in an exclusive three-year deal between DeNA and Hasbro to develop and publish mobile games based on the Transformers franchise. Extending beyond the card-based battling in Transformers: Legends and the runner action of Transformers: Age of Extinction, Transformers: Battle Tactics is the second mobile turn-based strategy game based on the Transformers series.
Last but certainly not least, Transformers: Battle Tactics will be available for iOS devices sometime in 2015. So between now and then, we’ll be sure to keep you updated if anything new comes our way.
Update: Thanks to Reddit user, /u/PSBlake, for pointing out that this is the second Transformers turn-based strategy game for iOS.
