Zak Needs Your Help in ‘Flyhunter Origins’ [App Review]
Accidents happen and Zak the janitor has made quite a big one in Flyhunter Origins. While “The Frog”, the legendary Flyhunter crew’s ship, is near Earth’s orbit, Zak accidentally jettisons some precious and expensive cargo. The Flyhunter crew was deep in cry sleep and were also jettisoned from the ship. Zak desperately needs your help to correct his mistake and time is of the essence since investors are patiently waiting for the Flyhunters to deliver the rare bug collection the Flyhunter crew has promised.
Zak drops his mop and broom and picks up a super cool fly swatter. Normally, this would be a dream come true for him, but given how important it is to rescue the Flyhunters and the lost cargo, it’s a do-or-die situation.
Controls are easy to master with the left side of the screen representing forward and backward movement. Use the left side of the screen to initiate jumps, swat at bugs, or zap bugs with a stun gun. During each level you and Zak must collect green globs which lubricate and power the ship. Also, collect rare bug eggs to trade on the black market to upgrade current equipment or purchase cool new gear. Be sure to keep your “bug eyes” open for secret packages that may be hidden in each level.
As you and Zak make your way through each level, gameplay continues getting progressively harder. You’ll recognize obstacles from previous levels only this time they might be harder to clear or less forgiving. New re-spawn points will become your best friends on some levels.
The storyline and visuals in Flyhunter Origins is great and kept me up late at night trying to collect more rare bugs to help Zak right his wrong. There were times it was hard to squash the bugs because they were so cool looking, but once they started attacking, it was game on!
Flyhunter Origins is available right now in the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. For just $2.99 you unlock the game in its entirety, which means there are no in-app purchases
Steel Wool Games, animators with over 60 experience including numerous Disney Pixar films, teamed up with Ripstone, an independent UK games publisher, to bring you this highly entertaining game that will have you helping and routing for the underdog, or in this case the underbug.
