Halfbrick, developers of Fruit Ninja, have recently announced Yes Chef, their first entry into the world of puzzle games with a take on classic match-3 gameplay. Developed by CitrusJoy and published by Halfbrick, Yes Chef tells the story of a young apprentice named Cherry and Chef Pierre who guides her in the culinary arts. At launch, the game will feature 100 levels, which include a variety of unique matching challenges and get harder as your progress. Throughout Yes Chef, players must accommodate the needs of customers, break frozen food out of ice, unbox cakes, and complete other various tasks. To give players an edge, power-ups can be used that include hammers, magic bottles, bombs and shuffles to complete objectives.
From what we were told, Halfbrick doesn’t brand their published games under a separate category or sub-label. So with that being said, each game is carefully selected by Halfbrick to become an official member of their portfolio. As of now Yes Chef is currently in soft launch across Australia and Canada, however, the game will be available worldwide on the App Store come October 9th.
