MacWorld 2014: Day 2 Roundup with Photos
Well folks, MacWorld is officially more than over with the 2nd day of the event in the bag. While today we weren’t nearly as busy compared to yesterday, we still met with a lot of companies and app developers to get a demo and what they are working on. Kicking off our day shortly after 11AM PDT, we met up again with the folks from MacPhun to touch base on how their booth was going and meet their PR lady, Ashley Hernandez. Like we mentioned yesterday, you can look forward to some exiting and awesome collaborations or giveaways with them later this year.
Moving forward we stopped by Game Inight‘s PR office here in San Francisco for a demo on their upcoming iOS game, Dragon Eternity. Leading up to the in person demo, we only had the details that were sent to us and didn’t know for sure how the game would operate. Luckily though after a few minutes and levels, we finally caught on and got the hang of Dragon Eternity. Currently it has been soft-launched on the Russian App Store to collect feedback from users and gamers. As of now an exact release date for a worldwide launch is unknown, however, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. Going off the development build that was shown, Dragon Eternity is a fairly good game with a mix of RPG elements added into a Temple Run-like experience. Overall, it should be exiting to see how everything turns out once it is available on the App Store everywhere.
As MacWorld approached this week, we got word that the folks from Optrix will be showing off their waterproof case that can turn an iPhone into a really close representation of a GoPro. With us being really interested in trying the Optrix case for the iPhone 5, luckily we received a product sample roughly a week ago. Following up with the team, we also got a preview on their upcoming product that will feature much bigger lenses that’s just an attachment and not a whole case. While details are somewhat scarce at the moment, it’s safe to expect that their upcoming project will be available sometime later this year around late Spring to mid Summer if all goes as planned.
Meeting with a lot new comers and first timers at MacWorld this year, RUNNUR had a booth featuring their Hands Free iPad solution. With time to spare, the product caught our eye at the ease of use and general simplicity. At its core, the Hands Free iPad is an easy way to securely carry your iPad with you as you go throughout your day while allowing easy and quick access. As of now the product features a strap to go across your body, a clip for your belt, and a case that the iPad goes inside of which all can be seen here. Once we got the hang of using the strap and belt clip after a few minutes, it felt natural and like it required no thought. Like most things these days there was a slight learning curve getting a feel for the product, but once we got used to the Hands Free iPad solution, it was awesome and we really enjoyed it. Without going into too much detail, it’s easily possible to see how nurses/physicians or teachers could use this to make quick notes of anything in only a few seconds. For those that choose to go with the strap, it includes a few pockets for a water bottle, your wallet, phone and a couple other things.
