Video: iOS 7.1 Untethered Jealbreak Running on the iPhone 4
With the recent release of iOS 7.1 fixing any exploit used by the hugely popular jailbreak program Evasi0n, a small thread of hope has now been shown thanks to Winocm, a well-known developer in the jailbreak community. In Winocm’s most recent update, a video has been posted to his Youtube page showing off an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1 with an untethered jailbreak. While this may be exciting and great news, there is a slight catch. Seen as how the iPhone 4 is utilizing an Apple A4 SoC (system on a chip), it is permanently jailbreakable no matter what iOS version is installed due to the chip itself. That small catch aside, it’s still reassuring to know that a jailbreak for iOS 7.1 is being looked into regardless of any patches in the update. The only question that remains now is if and when a program will be released to the public to jailbreak iOS 7.1 for any device. As of now Winocm has not released an official tool for iPhone 4 users, but we’ll keep you informed if that does happen.
