How to: Use “iOS 7 LockScreen Weather” on iOS 6 with LockHTML 2! [Jailbreak]
Here at PocketFullOfApps we occasionally cover jailbreak tweaks and apps, especially some of the higher quality, more popular ones. This time around we’ve got a fantastic looking tweak, iOS 7 LockScreen Weather, which is available on the MacCiti repo for $1.49. As the name suggests, iOS 7 LockScreen Weather is (meant to be) for iOS 7 only and adds a nice weather display to the lockscreen as seen on the right. But for iOS 6 users who want to take advantage of this cool tweak, we’ve got a handy work around for you. All you’ve neec to do is follow our guide and you’re on your way to using iOS 7 LockScreen Weather on iOS 6.
- Download or purchase LockHTML 2 and iOS 7 LockScreen Weather if you haven’t already. You’ll also need iFile, iFunbox, or another program to modify files with.
- Navigate to /System/Library/LockCydgets and copy the “iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.cydget” folder to /var/stash/themes
- Rename “iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.cydget” to “iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.theme”.
- Go inside that “iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.theme” folder and rename weather.html to LockBackground.html.
- Respring or restart your device.
- Go to Settings -> LockHTML 2 -> Select Theme -> iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.
- Finally, lock your iOS device then unlock it and you should see the new theme applied.
If you don’t want to use LockHTML 2 in combination with this tweak, something else like GroovyLock, Winterboard, or Cydget will probably work as well. With the vast customization options in LockHTML 2 though, it will give you the best overall experience when using iOS 7 LockScreen Weather.
