‘iStopMotion’ Gets Brand New Update to Version 3.5, Canon DSLR Live View Now Supported!
Users of Boinx‘s popular Mac program iStopMotion can now rejoice, the developers have finally released a much anticipated update bringing a lot of new features that fans have been wanting. iStopMotion 3.5 now supports live view with Canon DSLR cameras including the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 40D, 60D, 60Da, Rebel XSi, Rebel T2i, and Rebel T5i. In addition, iStopMotion can now export animated GIFs up to 200 frames and capture anything on your screen then turn it into an animation or time lapse. Best of all, this update is completely free to those who already have bought iStopMotion. Here’s the full list of what’s new in this version 3.5 update:
- Support for animated GIF export: save any sequence of up to 200 frames as an animated GIF right to the hard drive.
- Screen capture: capture anything on your screen and turn it into an animation or time lapse movie.
- Onion skinning: see what the animation is going to look like before you capture the frame.
- Rotoscope: use another movie as a guide for your animation to get the movements just right.
- Tilt shift filter: one of the most popular photo and video effects today, make your scene look like a miniature.
- Chroma keying: animate dinosaurs into real background pictures or movies, or put an actor into an animated scene.
First time buyers can get iStopMotion for Mac on the Boinx website for $49.99 or if you are willing to wait, the version 3.5 update is pending approval in the Mac App Store which should land anytime soon.
