First Update to ‘Asphalt 8: Airborne’ Adds a New Car, Drops to Free Permanently
Gameloft, one of the best known developers and publishers on the App Store, has released the very first update to their racing game Asphalt 8: Airborne making it the onlyiOS game to feature the Clio R.S. 200 EDC. In addition to its outstanding performance and versatility, it incorporates a number of enhancements, like steering-wheel paddle-shift gear changes, an R.S. Monitor 2.0 data system and the R.S. Drive button to adapt the car to the way you want to drive (normal, sport and race). If you still haven’t bought Asphalt 8: Airborne, now may be a good time to give it a shot. Gameloft has made the move to drop the price down to free permanently, however, there are various in-app purchases which aren’t too big of a deal.
“For me, the most enjoyable aspect to this project was convincing Renault Sport to include Clio R.S. 200 EDC in a game in which the car will spend the majority of its time flying and gliding through the air, whereas Renault Sport’s engineers are far more renowned for their chassis and suspension design expertise!” notes Geoffrey Vion, Client & Digital Marketing Manager.
“We are delighted to be able to offer our fans and those of Renault a chance to drive Clio R.S. 2000 EDC in Asphalt 8: Airborne. We are continuing to upgrade the series with an increasingly comprehensive catalogue of cars and new, breath-taking game modes,” adds Gameloft’s Alexandre Tan, VP Brand Partnerships.
Along with the new car, here’s what else you can expect in this new update:
- Rack up trophies to earn bigger prizes.
- Win credits, upgrades and exclusive cars.
- 7 new reverse tracks, including Nevada, Iceland, Tokyo, and more.
- See how your opponents’ ratings change after each race.
- Faster matchmaking.
- Get ahead of the pack with the Tuning Kit, Nitro, or Double Credits boost.
- Rearrange your touch controls however you want.
