‘Readr’ for iPad Review
Reading books and magazines on the astonishing Retina Display of an iPad is such an awesome experience. An iPad is always my digital assistant wherever I go, providing me all the news right in front of me with simple taps. In fact, I have tried many apps for reading magazines and newspapers and here comes another cool app to the list, Readr.
Readr, developed by Pixel Mags, is a nice way to read magazines on the go. I like it from the very first tap that shows a quick voice based demo of the app and its features in an attractive, cartoon representation. The magazines are featured in an intuitive UI so that users can easily slide through their wish list. Readr provides a service called AnyTime, which offers readers a way of free reading of any magazines for the initial 20 minutes — if you want more just tap on the button and go for the purchase.
Another great thing about the app is that every user can get a 7 days free trail of AnyTime and gives you access to thousands of magazines. You have to create an account with the app to explore the magazine store and you won’t be disappointed for some of your time. Once in, the app shows huge collection of magazines listed attractively with cover pictures, you can simply swipe around different categories from the top menu.
You can simply swipe down for the AnyTime feature from the top to enable/disable. The free trail of AnyTime is supported by ads so you have to swipe the advertisement initially to check the magazines. The pages are well displayed and the pinch zoom features provide very clear information on the screen. You can even bookmark any page from the screen for later access and see the contents as a list from the top right button. To sum it up, Readr delivers the best in terms of a good magazine reader — the app is elegant and the AnyTime concept is unique as well. This app is iPad only and available in the App Store for free.
