Kickstarter Campaign Launches for ‘Game Changer – The Football Match Fixing Game’
Kickstarter has been used to fund a lot of innovative products and ideas, including a large number of video games. Independent developers Game Changer Games, based in Seattle, have just launched a campaign to raise the money they need to finish making the first ever game based on football match fixing.
Match fixing has been the topic of a lot of scandal in professional soccer around the world in recent years and the team behind the game want to create a funny yet challenging game where the player takes on the role of a match fixer, trying to make money by fixing games and betting on the outcomes. The game uses story elements based on real life investigations into match fixing, as well as offering strategic gameplay that results in a combination of a Football Manager type sport management simulator, a Mafia Wars style organized crime game, and an RPG.
The Kickstarter campaign aims to raise $75,000, which will fund full development and testing of the game. Backers are offered a number of unique rewards, including the opportunity to design their own characters who will appear in the game. The Kickstarter was launched on May 1st and will run for one month.
