How to: Jailbreak your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch running iOS 6 to iOS 6.1 with Evasi0n!
As we reported earlier today, the official iOS 6 to iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak was released for the masses. Cydia is over loaded, sources won’t load, things won’t updated or download — but that’s half of the fun with jailbreaking. Anyways if you still want to jailbreak and wait it out, you can follow our in-depth how to guide below!
- Backup your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad via iTunes or iCloud.
- Disable lock passcode then close iTunes before continuing.
- Make sure your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad is running iOS 6 or above.
- Now download Evasi0n.
- Unzip the file you downloaded and run evasi0n.
- evasi0n will detect your device, then click the “Jailbreak” button!
- After that, evasi0n will go through the jailbreaking process. Follow any on screen instructions if told so.
- The evasi0n jailbreak tool will add a temporary new icon to your homescreen, so tap on it just once and it will close automatically.
- Following that, evasi0n will finish a few things for the jailbreaking process and you will see the Cydia icon added to your homescreen.
- Enjoy your new jailbroken iDevice!
Notes/Beware:
If the process gets stuck, it’s safe to restart the program and/or reboot the device then return to the jailbreaking process. If the device is stuck displaying “patching kernel”, you can press Power+Home for a long time to force a reboot.
