Having Fun with ‘Wurdzee’ – Is that a word? [Review]
If you enjoy word games, then you will want to give Wurdzee a gander. Most word games ask you to spell words from a group of letters, Wurdzee flashes words across the screen and asks you if it is a real word or not. You start off by creating an account or signing in with Facebook. You need to do this so you can be part of the global leader board. I also found that if you do not have an active Internet signal, you will not be able to play the game.
Once signed it, the game begins. A word will appear on the screen and you have 5 seconds to determine if it is a real word or not. If you choose correctly, then you get 25 points. The game go one somewhat indefinitely. You will need to get more than 50 words correct before going to the next level. You can always share your scores via Twitter and Facebook. Also in the game, you can earn real rewards.I was not exactly sure what that meant, so I contacted the developer and got the following response:
With regards to your question about the rewards & achievements with the game, the intent is to rewards players for reaching various milestones. So with 30 levels within the game, we want to reward players every 5 levels – and we consider that an accomplishment. As a player is rewarded, they can either pass up on the reward offer or they can choose to redeem that reward. Our rewards engine is powered by Kiip.
Overall the game is a nice change of pace to all of the word games that make you spell words. I have enjoyed playing but after a while it seemed to be a bit repetitive. I also mentioned this to the developer, well there are some changes coming down the road.
We are going to be introducing dictionary definitions and a longer countdown timer. We are also going to be enhancing the gaming environment to become a little more fun and interactive.
Other plans in Wurdzee’s future will include new versions, like Wurdzee for Kids, Wurdzee as a teaching tutor in or out of the classroom, and other franchises. We’d really like to tapinto the educational aspect of social gaming.
With these updates and additions coming down the pipeline, I think Wurdzee is and will continue to be a very good game to challenge your vocabulary. So is “centimetre” a word?
