‘Yowza!!’ App Puts Paperless Coupons in Your Pocket
Some people like to clip coupons. There are even extremists that treat it like a job and spend 6-8 hours each day shuffling through newspapers and leaflets, poring over promo codes, and finding ways to double and triple dip in savings so that they get $400 worth of groceries for only fifty cents, or actually get money back on every shopping trip. And considering that these individuals admit to saving $20,000+ a year over the average consumer, it really is like a full-time job. Then there are those of us that are only so committed to saving that we’re willing to sign up for Groupon, LivingSocial, HauteLook, and other deal-of-the-day sites in order to get coupons and deals deposited into our inbox each day. For those that take the latter approach to couponing, the Yowza!! Mobile Coupons app could be an extremely useful addition to your iPhone or iPad (and the extreme couponers out there will likely find something to love, as well).
The app is free to download, which is commendable considering that anyone interested in it is trying to save money by using coupons. But what will it give you that you can’t get from simply clipping coupons from your weekly mailer or searching online for manufacturer coupon codes (and so on)? Aside from the fact that Yowza!! provides exclusive deals that can’t be had elsewhere, it also delivers results based on your geographic location. So if you live in an area that has no Albertsons grocery stores, for example, you shouldn’t receive coupons that will be totally useless to you because there are no locations near where you live. By the same token, it will recalculate when you’re on the move so that you can take advantage of any deals from the area you’re in, making it very handy if you travel. You can also do your own searches by city or zip code.
But there’s more! Not only will the app notify you when coupons are added for your favorite locales (from grocery stores to eateries, retail shops, and even your dry cleaner) it will also allow you to tag favorite coupons to call them up quickly, as well as share great deals with family and friends via email and social networking accounts (Facebook and Twitter). And redeeming your coupons is just as simple. You won’t have to download and print coupons to use them; all you do is pull up the coupons you want to use while you’re at the register (via smartphone or tablet) and have the cashier scan the barcode to redeem them. Plus, you can track your savings after the fact to see how much the app has helped you.
While plenty of people will no doubt use this app in addition to perusing paper publications for coupons to clip and scouring the internet for web coupon codes, even those procrastinators that never seem to get around to the clipping stage can benefit from the deals offered by this app. All you really have to do is choose the stores you want to follow, tag the deals you like when they pop up, and then remember to pull out your phone when you check out at a store. Yowza!! does the rest and you enjoy savings with very little effort.
