Tweak Week #6
SPRING BREAK 2012! Welcome all, including you, and you, not you, and you in the far back. So, this week has been an interesting week, full of days and weather changes. Easter is also a day away, so that is something to think about (not really). So with all that out of the way, lets start this!
First we have a tweak that shows off the multitasking side of the iOS. It doesn’t really add anything important, but it makes the multitasking screen beautiful to look at. What I am talking about is, Aero from SBCoders. Aero changes the look and feel of the multitasking screen. You can replace the screen or you can choose a different action to toggle the screen to appear. Aero also allows you to “kill” the app by tap & holding the icon. In Settings.app there are other settings you can mess with, like changing the view, changing the background and other little tweaks for it.
Aero is $1.99 in Cydia.
This tweak, is something I’ve always wanted. You are in the Lockscreen, you plug in your headphones, and you still have to double press the home button to play music. With this tweak, it stops that and adds some cool features. Headphone Launcher from S2 IT Consulting LLC. Headphone Launcher allows you to plug your headphones and when in the lockscreen, the iPod Controls will pop-up and so will something else. That something else is specific apps you choose inside the Settings.app (there are default apps that show up) and you can tap on those and it’ll bring you to that app. I find this tweak useful because I don’t need to double press the home button for the controls to pop-up, they are already there when I plug my headphones in.
Headphone Launcher is $0.99 in Cydia
Lastly, we have another thing that has to do with the multitasking side of the iOS. This tweak, KillBackground by Mathieu Bolard (@mattlawer) is a very useful tweak. KillBackground adds a small (or large button) on the side of the multitasking tray (left or right) and with a simple tap, it erases all the running apps in it, including the “dead'” ones. It’s useful when you have way too many applications in there and you don’t want to delete every single app manually.
KillBackground is Free in Cydia.
