‘iStunt 2’ Review
The well known flash game website, Miniclips, have recently released their hit snowboarding game, iStunt 2, into the App Store. iStunt 2 is a physics snowboarding game that involves lots of tricks and concentration.
Gameplay 10/10
iStunt 2 is a simplistic game with plenty of levels and lots of fun. There are plenty of levels to keep you busy, and the difficulty level of iStunt 2 will make sure you won’t finish quickly. If you haven’t already played the web version of iStunt 2, all the levels consists of is from getting to the start to finish. Along the way there will be plenty of bumps, hills, rails, boosts and fans to stop you. There are flags which are checkpoint along the level, where you spawn each time after you fall of you skateboard or cut into pieces. iStunt 2 is physics based and you can do many cool stunts as you try to beat the level. You have to collect stars and do tricks to maximize the number of points you get and so this adds to the depth to the game and makes it more challenging. But most of the gameplay boils down to landing because the board has to be perfectly aligned with the curve or you will skid and fall off. There are many obstacles like occasionally the gravity will change, there are huge saws that try and cut you apart, and boosts. Overall, the game is well balanced and has a good level of difficulty that will neither frustrate you or make you want to laugh. There are also leaderboards and achievements to keep you playing the game more.
Graphics 10/10
The graphics are gorgeous and support the new Retina Display. There are two different landscapes that look wonderful on any iPhone or iPod Touch and the theme of the game is also very good. iStunt 2 also boasts a iPad specific version as well.
Controls 10/10
The controls consist of tilting and tapping and both are easy to use while tilting will allow you to move you skateboarder left, right, up and down. As for tapping, it will allow you tail grab on both ends of the board. Combining these controls allows for some very cool moves and a ton of points. The controls are very responsive and tilting makes it more fun.
Sound 10/10
The soundtrack fits extremely well with the feel of the game and keeps the game interesting. The in-game music is upbeat and fun to listen to while skateboarding. The sound effects are great as you can hear yourself die. You can also you iPod music while playing the game which is an added bonus as well.
Menus 10/10
The menus are great and fit with the theme of the game. To select a different level, you have to use a ski-lift which is clever and funny.
Longevity 10/10
iStunt 2 has 42 action packed levels and more coming on the way. The level of difficulty and the game itself remain fun throughout all the levels. Each level is unique and requires you try out different moves while still attempting to get the high score. There is also time trails, where you can try and beat your high score to get on the leader boards. Once you finish the game, you will want tons more.
Cost 10/10
iStunt 2 takes the price of $0.99 which is perfect because it is an excellent casual game. There is really no real reason why you shouldn’t buy it at this price before it goes up.

iStunt 2, is one of those rare games where everything is perfect and there is nothing wrong with it. iStunt 2 has great graphics and excellent gameplay that will want to make you keep snowboarding for that high-score.
