‘Battlefield Bad Company 2’ Info, Screenshots, and Gameplay Video Relased
Ever since it was announced that EA would be bringing their popular PS3 and XBOX 360 FPS, Battlefield Bad Company 2, to iOS devices, I was really excited because I’m a huge FPS (First Person Shooter) fan. Well, the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad app review website giant, Touch Arcade, has gotten a hands on preview with Battlefield Bad Company 2 and has released a lot of info along with some screenshots and even a gameplay video. First off, Battlefield Bad Company 2 will feature a single player campaign that will contain 14 missions spread across the normal environments you can expect (snow, desert, jungle, etc). Apparently, the missions will be quite lengthy and chock-full of different goals to accomplish as you play. During certain missions you’ll be able to drive a tank, a turret-mounted armored truck, and even a helicopter.
Pretty stoked so far, just like me? Well, wait, because there’s more.
The controls are “spot-on” (according to Touch Arcade) and will utilize the “touch anywhere” virtual controls set-up. Also, there will be icons for throwing grenades, crouching, and even aiming down the sights of your gun (see the picture below).
If there’s good news there is sometimes bad news that comes along with that, unfortunately.
In the console version of Battlefield Bad Company 2, it’s well known for the destructible environments and buildings you can explode into bits and pieces, however, that’s not going to be on the iOS versions on launch. You’re probably wondering, “But why? It would be a killer feature on iOS devices!”. Well, wait a second real quick, this is a mobile device, not a powerhorse system with 1080p graphics, ya know. Now, it could be possible EA may add some form of these destructible environments and buildings you can explode into bits and pieces in a later update, however, I highly doubt that it will ever happen.
But wait, there’s still some more bad news unfortunately.
The multiplayer will only support 2-4 players in regular deathmatch and team deathmatch game types, as for online, you’ll be able to play over Wi-Fi or 3G or Bluetooth for local multiplayer. Even though the multiplayer may not be the best, it’s still nice that it will be officially licensed and will have all the guns the console version does.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is scheduled to be released sometime later this month and as always, PocketFullOfApps will keep you updated as time progresses.
