EA Presentation at Tokyo Apple Store Reveals ‘Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit’, ‘Dead Space 2’, and other Upcoming Titles
Boy do I have some exciting news for you viewers. The very popular iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad App Store developer, EA, has held a presentation/news conference at Tokyo, Japan. This presentation/news conference covered 5 of their upcoming games for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad which are covered in detail below.
- First up is Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, EA‘s latest addition to the Need for Speed series for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Apparently, there will be 20 real world production cars to race with in 3 different environments (Coastal, Mountains and Desert) on 48 different events. I’m not completely sure what these “events” will be, but they sound as if it won’t just be racing involved. But nonetheless, the gameplay sounds pretty awesome with shortcuts, jumps and gradients. Also, there will be Police Pursuit Mode which will allow you to be the police or evade the police.
- Next up is Pictureka! by EA. Pictureka! will be made into an iPad game that will be very similar to the card game itself. It will come with pass and play local multiplayer for 2-4 people and promises an art style that’s both truly engaging and wacky.
- Next is Monopoly. Monopoly is finally coming to the iPad after a long much anticipated wait. The iPad exclusive features sound really awesome, itt will have an auto-rotating tabletop mode a new “cheating” mode, and a mini game where you steal money from the bank while the rest of the players are getting drinks or going to the bathroom.
- EA Sports Active is the next one on the list. EA Sports Active has been popular on the consoles and now is finally coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch. It will include gyro support, but as for anything else, that is not known. Syncing between the console versions and the iPhone version anyone?
- Last on the list, certainly not least though, is Dead Space 2. Dead Space 2 is a third person shooter that apparently is going to bridge the story between Dead Space and its sequel, making this something more along the lines of Dead Space 1.5 more than Dead Space 2.
PocketFullOfApps will keep you updated as usual on any of these games as time progresses.
