‘Epic Citadel’ Tech Demo Available for Download
So we saw a really sleek looking tech demo at the Apple Event but there is always something different about it being shown to you compared with actually playing it. Thankfully, Epic Games have released the demo on iTunes to be downloaded called Epic Citadel. It’s free, but is only compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3rd Generation and iPad.
What you do in Epic Citadel is walk around a medieval village, exploring churches and rivers. There’s nothing you can do, but the whole idea is that it just show-cases what the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is capable of.
When I played the demo on an iPad, I was absolutely stunned. The graphics rival console quality and take advantage of the Unreal Engine. If you have a compatible device then go download this now. This truly marks a revolution in iOS gaming and I can’t wait to see what games come out in the future which takes advantage of this, and considering this only took 8 weeks to develop, I can only dream of what developers are capable of in a year.
I am eagerly awaiting the full version of this game called Project Sword which combines game mechanics into the mix.
