Apple Adds Email-Based FaceTime Support in iOS 4.1 Beta 3
Apple’s latest beta version of iOS 4.1 (Beta 3 that is) released not too long ago has offered very supportive evidence that the next generation iPod Touch will get FaceTime. How is this so? Well, a new option in the iOS “Contacts” application has been found that allows users to make FaceTime calls using either a phone number or an email address. This would allow FaceTime compatibility with devices not associated with a phone number such as iPad or iPod Touch with a camera. Mid-last month the first evidence for email address compatibility with FaceTime popped up thanks to 9 to 5 Mac with alleged screenshots showing settings offering the option to associate email addresses with FaceTime along with screenshots of source code. PocketFullOfApps will keep you updated as time progresses.
