Not too long ago, EA announced that they will be bring 6 new games to the iPhone and iPod Touch and one of those games is R-Type, which a port of the sidescrolling shoot em’ up game from 1987. Well, screenshots have been released along with some info on R-Type’s controls. First off, there will be 3 different control systems, one using a traditional d-pad and fire button, another one using the accelerometer and a tap-to-shoot, and the last one, a complete touch system. EA did say that R-Type will have autofire plus separate buttons for charging up or launching the Force. R-Type appears to be coming along real well, so it will most likely be released sometime here in the near future (hopefully), however, you can sign up for updates at DotEmu if you want to.
