In-depth FaceTime For iPod Touch Details
9 to 5 Mac has posted some in-depth details of FaceTime for the iPod Touch on their website. These in-depth details include the FaceTime app setting icon along with screenshots of source code showing details on how to register a FaceTime account and other things.
First off, FaceTime for the iPod Touch will require a e-mail to place calls and receive calls. Why a e-mail? Well, the iPod Touch doesn’t have a cell phone number like the iPhone does due to the fact that it has no antenna for signal reception which means Apple has to resort to e-mail (see the picture above).
Apple will also offer what you want to show up as the Caller ID on the receiving end:
Now, your Apple ID will be your main log-in method and you can even create an Apple ID within the FaceTime settings:
Along with those 3 screenshots of source code, there are 3 other miscellaneous ones which you can see for yourself below:
Now, if FaceTime gets an icon inside the Settings app, this is what it will look like apparently:
The new iPod Touch is expected to be released sometime in September along with the new iPod lineup. PocketFullOfApps will post more info as it is released.
