Upcoming: ‘Bug Heroes’ From Forsaken Media

Note: This is still in early development and subject to change. This is just to give you an idea of the gameplay.
Forsaken Media, makers of N.Y.Zombies [REVIEW] which got a sterling 5 star from us, has announced a new game title for the iPhone and iPod Touch called Bug Heroes.
Rather than me explain it all, here’s what the developers have said:
Bug Heroes combines the tried and true dual stick shooter control setup with an innovative mix of RPG and castle defense elements. Players can freely switch between 3 heroes — at any time on the battlefield — each with their own strengths, weaknesses, skills and equipment. With over 20 enemy types, there will be a ton of depth and strategy in how players will manage their heroes vs. which types of enemies, and a huge variety in how people can choose to play.
RPG: Switch between three heroes at any time, anywhere on the map, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, equipment and skills. Use the heavily armored Beetle to swat away hordes of lesser enemies with powerful AOE melee swipes. Instantly switch to the fast but vulnerable Spider to assassinate larger, heavily-armored enemies with his four giant blades or switch to Ant for his long ranged combat and support abilities. See your heroes change as they gain levels and equip new items. Improve their stats and earn money to buy equipment and skills unique to each character. Bug Heroes has a level of customization and character development that is foreign to most action games.
Castle defense: Though you have complete control of your heroes, your main objective is to defend your food stash from enemies. To help with this, you can upgrade it with a variety of turrets and scour the map for food to replenish your supply.
Dual-stick shooter: A familiar scheme is used to control your heroes, and players will freely explore several diverse environments (in an overhead perspective) destroying enemies that are trying to eat your food stash or kill your heroes. There are also different objectives — from killing to defending to searching to collecting — offering a variety rarely seen in other dual-stick shooters.
The Heroes
Beetle: The last of the Beetle Clan, he is a heavily armored tank which uses large AOE attacks perfect for knocking back and squashing hordes of smaller bugs like fleas and ants. His thick armor allows him to brush off their attacks even when surrounded by 20-30 at once.
Spider: A quick, high damage but vulnerable assassin from the Widow Clan, who has joined the trio of heroes for his own secret reasons. His attacks can devastate single, high HP targets and cut through armor like butter, but are not so great vs masses of smaller enemies where he can easily be overwhelmed.
Ant: One of the few remaining ants not a slave, Ant is an engineer and ranged specialist, using advanced technology and gadgets to set up defenses or fire away at long range. He relies on his skills and equipment perhaps more then the other heroes, and like Spider, can easily be overwhelmed if not managed carefully.
Now don’t get too excited, this game is only two months in development and due to be released at about late September/early October so a bit of a wait yet, but definitely one to keep in mind.
