iOS 4.1 Beta Released Along With iOS 4.1 SDK + Fixes/Additions
Just yesterday, Apple released the next update to iOS 4, which is iOS 4.1. Now, if you’re just a regular user and have an iPhone 4, don’t get your hopes up. Why? Well, iOS 4.1 hasn’t fixed the iPhone 4’s antenna problems (then again, software fixes/updates can’t fix hardware problems). So, your iPhone 4 will have the same old antenna problems as usual (if you have antenna problems). As of now, Apple doing a full-blown recall of the iPhone is a possibility, however, don’t get your hopes up too high. As for other fixes/additions in iOS 4.1, here’s a list:
- Flash/Camera buttons reposition themselves in landscape (see picture to the right).
- Favorites in the Phone app can now be added as Voice or Facetime.
- Check Spelling can be turned Off in Setting.
The release date for iOS 4.1 is not known, however, Apple is holding a press meeting tomorrow for the iPhone 4, so it’s quite possible it could be released then, though it’s not that probable it will be released tomorrow. PocketFullOfApps will let you now if more new fixes/additions are found in iOS 4.1.
