Rapid Recap: Litterfin Louie
Browsing the App Store, I ran into a small little iPhone game called Litterfin Louie and just knew that I had to review it. Between the cartoonish art style and the fast-paced gameplay, you can’t go wrong with buying this game. It comes from an indie development company known as habelnet, who are off to a great start in my opinion.
The graphics of the game are what immediately attracted me to the game. Litterfin Louie is an eye-catching game starring a cute little fish named Louie, as the title suggests. He is drawn very well and shows how well this app development team can draw. The rest of the game is also eye-catching; they even make the trash look good!
The premise of the game revolves around Louie’s life in the deep, blue ocean. Everything is fine until people start polluting. Luckily, Louie’s diet includes trash! Eat as much garbage as you possibly can and even use power-ups such as a magnet to help you out! Be careful though, there are other fish and bombs just waiting to kill you.
The replayability factor is right there as well. Because it is a high-score based game, you can always beat your game and go for the #1 spot on the leaderboards. It’s very fast-paced too making you want to play over and over again, always getting better. In the long run, it is a very impressive first release for habelnet and I can’t wait for their next one.
