Herocraft and i-Free Innovations Unleash ‘Cuboid’ for iOS!
Herocraft, a Russian mobile applications and games developer and publisher, today announced the release of Cuboid for iOS, a stunning 3D puzzle game in which players navigate ancient ruins and lush environments, maneuvering a rectangular block through mystical exits. Cuboid, a previous best selling title on the PlayStation® Network, is developed by Creat Studios, produced and co-published by i-Free Innovations, and is now available on the App Store as a free download for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
Featuring 77 twisted puzzles and 3 beautifully vibrant environments, the game challenges players of all ages in a variety of mind-bending ways to flip and rotate the game’s main object — the ancient artifact Cuboid — to stand on and pass through a level’s mystical exit as fast and with as few moves as possible, all-the-while being careful not to fall off the map. Starting with simple concrete surfaces, players will find Cuboid easy to play, however, as gameplay advances, players are faced with intriguing obstacles such as fragile tiles, switches, teleporters, or levels that impose move limits to complete the maps.
“Cuboid takes a simple concept and stretches it into an insanely addictive puzzler,” said Pavel Prokonich, CEO of HeroCraft. “Aside from easy-to-use gameplay mechanics, Cuboid also delivers with unmatched visual clarity and nicely implemented sound effects, fully immersing players in the game’s head-scratching charm.”
“Re-inventing a critically acclaimed game for mobile devices was a challenging task, but we felt that in the end Cuboid would greatly benefit from touch interfaces and the immense beauty of Retina displays,” said Kirill Petrov, managing director, i-Free Innovations. “Altogether this allows players to plunge even deeper into the mysteries of this enthralling, highly challenging and impressively beautiful game.”

You can download Cuboid form the App Store via this link. Enjoy!

Okay, so it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. But when it comes to geographic information systems, you won’t need any special hardware to access this one in the field; with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch at your disposal you’re good to go (although the graphics capabilities of the iPad offer the best fit for this visual app). And let’s face it: most urban planners spend plenty of time outside the office surveying the areas they’re working on first hand. How much can you really learn from a computer? At some point you’ve got to get out into the physical environment to get a feel for the real-world aspect of your project. You can’t just plop a park down in the middle of a neighborhood without knowing how it fits in physically with buildings, power lines, traffic, and so on. While you can no doubt get this information from a variety of sources, nothing compares to seeing it with your own eyes.
